Who We Are
Armenian Ministry
Reformed Faith and Life in Armenia
Alongside our activities in France and the French-speaking world, we are also active in Armenia through the ministry of Havad yev Guyank (Faith and Life).
This work began in 1992, shortly after the end of the Soviet Union and the establishment of the Republic of Armenia, at the initiative of Pastor A. R. Kayayan (1928–2008), in collaboration with the Endanik educational centre in Gyumri, Armenia’s second-largest city after the capital, Yerevan. It primarily serves Eastern Armenian speakers living in the Republic of Armenia, as well as Armenian communities in neighbouring Georgia and the Russian Federation.
Our activities in Armenia
We broadcast programmes several times a week on the Radio Hay network.
We arrange for books to be translated and printed locally, covering theology and other subjects from a Christian perspective, including ethical, political, social and scientific issues.
We are involved in a project to translate the Bible into modern Eastern Armenian, based on the best editions of the Hebrew and Aramaic text for the Old Testament and the Greek text for the New Testament. Our local team of translators is guided and supported by an international committee.
In 2022, the New Testament and Psalms were published in a single volume, with 6,000 copies printed. A new edition of 20,000 copies is due to be published before the end of 2026. The complete text of the Bible is scheduled to be translated, reviewed, typeset and published by the end of 2028. We envisage printing at least 25,000 Bibles.
We also take part from time to time in initiatives supporting refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh through the Endanik centre in Gyumri.
